FACILITATION & TEAM BUILDING
Workshopping, Collaboration, Connection
The Challenge:
Teams across disciplines, and especially across the country, often struggle to feel aligned, connected, and valued. At Sinomax USA, things were no different. Communication silos and competing perspectives risked slowing down collaboration and dampening creativity and innovation. I was determined to bring these diverse and creative voices together in a way that built trust, encouraged participation, and created shared ownership of ideas and outcomes. The goal was to foster connection and inspire teams to think boldly while ensuring every participant felt heard.
This is what compelled me to get my certificate as a Workshopper Master by AJ&Smart, a product design and strategy studio passionate about building products with many of the world's leading companies. Using what I've learned from this intensive course, I've been instrumental in solidifying team members in remote and on location roles across the country.
Implementation:
-
Designed and Facilitated interactive workshops, both in-person and remote, ranging from 1-hour sessions to full-day strategy sprints.
-
Engagement: Used structured exercises like icebreakers, group activities, and prioritization tools like heatmap voting to spark engagement and give all personality types, from introverts to extroverts, space to contribute.
-
Ideation and Problem-solving: Guided teams through ideation, problem-solving, and retrospectives, ensuring ideas were refined into focused, actionable strategies.
-
Action Plan: Captured key decisions, timelines, and ownership assignments so workshops concluded with clarity and accountability.
Results:
-
Transformed multi-disciplinary groups into cohesive, energized teams who felt heard, inspired, and aligned across locations and departments.
-
Created stronger trust and empathy among reports, colleagues, and the leadership team while fostering creativity and drove a shared commitment to goals.
-
Strengthened company culture and accelerated innovation, problem-solving and speed to market.
-
Identified primary issues, challenges and opportunities in group retrospectives to position the company, by department and for the leadership team, for success in the upcoming year.
